Amrikko's Indian Grill

Went to Amrikkos tonite Jan 6 2012. It was our first visit and we thought the food was simply fantastic! We ordered the tandoori chicken, lamb curry, curried mixed vegetables, and the beef rice dish (name escapes me). Fed three hungry appetites and there were leftovers to box up take home! Our bill was dead on accurate and came to $71 before tip including two Kokanees and a glass of wine. We thought this was reasonably priced and will definitely be back for more!!

Seems like you think you know what real food is, no wonder you waste your time on Ramsays life and assuming what he d say or not.. Did you teach him to be like that ?? Like literally maybe you should have done research on your taste buds maybe ur worth only eating a burger and fries type of a dinner.. Seriously all you people that complaim not just about this restaurant are either racist or lack knowledge of different cultures.. Just stick to stale pizza and beer. You say this place will say no passion in cooking then you must have no passion in understanding what food is. Who do you think you are mouthing people. I think your a racist towards Indian people and food. If it was a Canadian retaurant i bet you wouldn't have said this much. Point proven. Enjoy your $2 burger that is worth not even 0.25 cents !

why dont you go to a store where you can buy canned food for 4.00 its more cheaper if you cant afford eating in a fine dininig restaurant and cant afford to pay people tips then why go eat out this food has been and always amazing been here for the last 8 years i love this food to death!!!! grow up and get a life

i loved this restaurant since it was open the spice is so spicy it will open your blocked nose for good i had ckn vindallo and it opened it thank god for amrikkos and how would you know if the meat is processed, did you ever work here, are you a health inspector??? i think you just went there on the wrong time and day i think you had a belly ache because you were pregnant and should of listened to your doctor about what indian foods you should eat!!!! grow up and stop complaing like a baby!!!!

The food served at this place is nothing short of disgusting, it seems to be scraps of old food served with a powdery liquid purporting to be a curry sauce. It has to be the worst food I have ever been served anywhere in the world. There were six of us all having different meals, each meal was the same.....garbage and that is where they ended up. Even the rice was awful, just save your money and go somewhere else. When we left the place (can't bring myself to call it a restaurant) we all had tremendous thirsts so god knows what's in the food!
I would love Gordon Ramsey to visit this hole and see what he has to say about it....I could guess there would be one or two expletives and possibly something about no passion. You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging people for such garbage.

If you've ever eaten REAL East Indian food the crap sold here will make you puke.
The meats are processed and served in powdered soup mixed with water. The bread is uncooked and you'll get belly ache. Rundown decoration too. They should be ashamed for destroying the reputation of their culture's fine food for the sake of making a huge profit from inexperienced, easily impressed customers. DON'T WASTE YOUR BUCKS HERE. They must have enough relatives to write fake positive reviews!
If there was a worse rating category than poor, I'd choose it.

Have compared Amrikko's to Indian restaurants from nanaimo to Victoria (5 in Victoria alone)and Amrikko's is the BEST one. Every dish is superb, is a delight for the mouth. not your average Indian food, WELL WORTH IT. even the take out was wonderful

LOL.....have had the food many times....prolly had 95% of items on menu, and i can say, ALL my orders were on time and as good as can be. Its to bad TROLLS try to tarnish an excellent buisnesses name!!! Great food, great staff, nothing but love for this restaurant.

I LOVE amrikko's!!! I have eaten there many a time and i have NEVER had a bad experience with the food or service....I bet all the hate is 1 guy who is crying at home bored trying to stain a reputable reputation. O, my order is ready for pick-up, Im gettin buttered chicken, rice, mixed veggies, and a nice garlic naan (naan is SO good)....If u are ever in the Mid-Island area and dont eat here your have missed out!!!!!!

I've never had anything else from Amrikko's but I have to say their Butter Chicken is absolutely amazing. I crave it all the time and haven't had it taste as good anywhere else as it does at Amrikko's. Try it and you will most likely love it.

Me My Wife and Kids ate there not too long ago and i still have the taste of the chicken biryani in my mouth ! my god that was out of this world. The service was outstanding it seemed as if every employee there was doing everything to make all the customers happy. very satisfied and will be back very very very soon !

Horrible east indian cusine, the worst I have had. Pherhaps their Valentine special was suposed to be good but it was LOUSY. I eat at indian restauarants in Vancouver regularly and even the worst was better than the crap I was served at amrikkos. If you are from Nanaimo and think Amrikkos is good, go to anywhere in Vancover and realize it is garbage.

We order from the Parksville location, and the food is fabulous each and every time. We typically order Naan, Rice, Rogan Josh and Beef Vindaloo. The Lam Rogan is my favourite - the lamb is always very tender and the dish is sooo tasty! The service is always great too... very friendly and accomodating. This is our favourite restaurant!

Have dined there numerous times and it was fabulous every time!

Amrikko's is the best food I have EVER had. When my family visits me from the Mainland, one of our highlights is eating at or ordering from Amrikko's. My favorite is the butter chicken and the Navaratan Korma. I think Ill order some tonight!

Amrikko's is simply the best Indian restaurant by far on Vancouver island. Paul and Louis need to get their heads out of their asses and taste there ridiculously good items on there menu, they must have walked in on an off day for Amrikko's, But it is still good even when it is at the worst.

One of the best if not the best restaurant in Nanaimo.

For sure the best Indian food on the island...my daughter is a vegetarian and she can't come home to the island without a trip to Amrikko's. Paneer Pakoras and Veggie Korma and Spinach Naan are her favorites. I could almost drink the Korma sauce my self, it is SO good. FYI, they will make up sauce for you if you call ahead on the day you need it, they make it fresh every day!!

I was really looking forward to dining at Amrikos after all the wonderful things I had heard about it. Unfortunately on the night I visited with out of town guests it was less than acceptable. I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala and I was underwhelmed. The chicken was tough tandoori and the sauce was watery as it had been previously frozen.

May give them another chance but not anytime soon.

Amrikkos is the best tasting Indian Food we have found on Vancouver Island. The service is quick, and they don't push drinks on you - that is quite a treat! We love vegetarian food, and they have some favorites.

Yummy and a beautiful location right by Departure Bay.

Very Good Resturant. The Pride of Indian food on the Island, many more locations on the Island but Nanaimo's the best one for me. I would say the Butter Chicken is byfar the best they have.

For those who enjoy Indian cuisine, Amrikko's by the Sea is the place to eat!
Varied menu, including vegetarian dishes, Hot vindaloos, very nice selection of wines, updated cocktail menu- must try the margaritas!
