Montana's Cookhouse

Being Seniors, and because Montana's does not have a Senior's menu, we ordered the 'kids' portion of baby back ribs. Awesome - best ribs I've ever had. Meaty and tender, falling right off the bone, and just the right meal size for a senior.

my dad ordered baby back and got side ribs. my short ribs were not pull apart tender. had to ask for a finger bowl. what can i expect for a place that uses brown paper for a table cloth.

very good food, yes the drinks are over priced but the non achololic beverages are free refills (most of them).The servers are always nice and always seem happy (lots of smiles) i'd eat there more.

I have eaten here a number of times. Meals are usually good quality and if not the manager is just one request away (but the staff will do their best first). Managers work hard to correct any problem. The place is always full on weekend nights so they must be good...ALSO...

A lot of new menu items since around April. Calamari is great!!!

We waited 15 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge us after we were seated and then 1 1/4 hours for our food to arrive after our order was placed. When it finally arrived, with no appologies, only two meals arrived...the third one did not come for another 10 minutes...our food was cold waiting for my son's meal (we didn't want to start without him). Not at all impressed, drinks are way over priced. Service was some of the worst i have ever exoperienced. The waiter spent more time flirting with a table of young ladies than giving any attention to our table.

Well, if you want high fat food, go to Montana's. The salad, potato vegetable and meat on every plate we were serve was highly salted and extremely greasy. Does Montana's give contributions to BC Medical? They're pushing a lot of people towards a heart attack. If you want to die young, eat at Montana's.

Great food and serviceour 1st visit, and it was fun - even tho' the Canucks lost. Big servings, and we had enough for 2 meals the next day.

Always enjoy a wonderful meal when we goto Montana's in Nanaimo. The staff are extremely friendly & the food is amazing. We do not live in Nanaimo, but when we go there to shop, we usually have lunch at Montana's.

I would like to thank the owner for the excellent review. I go there. They have good food, and good service.

Great ribs, great service, nice smiles and if you have a special request... they do what they can to make you happy. Customers are a priority here. You cannot go wrong. Some of the prices seem a bit high, and drinks are overpriced... but.. it is worth it for a family outing. KIDS will love it... ask to let the kids go to the bar to honk the horn.. especially during Canuck games!
